A few years ago I was testing my Hemi Dart on the chassis dyno out at K&N Filters. As I had driven the car there from my home in El Monte - a 50 mile trek - you can imagine my panic when the timing chain suddenly broke at over 6,000-rpm. Lots of internal engine damage but my bigger concern was "how do I get the thing home?" Well Pete was ready with his trusty pickup truck and car trailer and hauled my broken Dart all the way back to El Monte for me. When I asked him how much I owed him, he just said "no sweat" and despite my attempts to push some money at him, he refused it. Pete was a generous man and he will be missed by many. -Steve Magnante

Like his friend, Ken Madison, Pete was taken from us much too early. He had so much still left to give. Always there when you needed a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. Thoughtful, and caring. I wished I would have met Pete many years before I actually did. You will be missed by many! Rest in peace.

Pete was a great friend. I will surely miss him. He used to call me all the time to see when i was going to the track next. It was an honor being his friend and fellow drag racer. I wish I could of lined up to race him. He was a true competitor.

About 10/15 years ago, I was going to court for an appearance on a case I had in Santa Barbara. It was about 7 am on the n/b 101 fwy near the City of Ventura when I saw Pete (before I ever knew him, only his car) in the right hand lane driving his '56 Chevy with that blower stickin' out of the hood cruising along just like any other motorist.

What a cool sight (and and incredible fabricator and racer).
